Today’s ‘Uncommitted Spotlight’ features Top Gun Fighting Clams 2020 attackman Dylan Brown of Belmont Hill (MA).

Coaches Comments: “Dylan has flown a bit under the radar to this point, attending only some local prospect days and the Adrenaline Black Card event this past summer. As a member of his outstanding Fighting Clam 2020 class’s top group, Dylan has attended and shined at some of our most competitive team tournaments, leading the team in scoring at last summer’s Adrenaline Invitational, and making prominent contributions at events such as the Big 4 Champions League, Naptown and the Philly Showcase.
“Dylan, an Honor Roll Student, plays with a creative flair that makes him very fun to watch. Among the program’s more dangerous right-handed shooters, Dylan is good for a highlight reel-caliber play every game he plays in (and likely more than one). Learning when to take a chance, and when not to, is something coaches discuss with Dylan from time to time. But ultimately ‘it’s easier to ask forgiveness than to get permission’ (or so it was famously said by Naval Officer Grace Hopper, look her up). Dylan plays as if this quote is a mantra, taking plenty of chances, having fun, and not worrying too much about the consequences.
“Ultimately, it’s why he’s so much fun to watch, and it’s why we love him. Club lax, we believe, is meant to be loose and fun. We’ll let his high school coach worry about reigning in his creative flair for the more conventional offensive system. An apology or two may be needed there, but very few will be needed with us. We let ’em play, and Dylan, well he tends to play as fast and loose as he can get away with.”
